Sherrill Tripp, Manager

Sherrill has been intimately involved in the horse industry for over forty-five years, starting with back-yard trail horses at the age of 11. At sixteen, she was the assistant barn manager at a summer camp in Cooperstown, New Your under Captain Beeman, a former cavalry officer. He instilled in Sherrill a true understanding of horse care and maintenance. Under his tutelage,, Sherrill entered the Hunter/Jumper world, purchasing her first jumper Tyzam. They competed successfully for two years, and earned Sherrill a scholarship at St. Lawrence University's riding program.

Pleased when her daughter, Courtney, showed a passion for horses, Sherrill became immersed in the industry. Courtney and Sherrill ran schooling shows and clinics at the barns where Courtney boarded her horses. When Courtney left for college, Sherrill was given the opportunity to start dressage lessons on Courtney's Irish Cream.

As her interest grew, Sherrill took advantage of becoming a working student and groom for an area trainer, and eventually became her business manager.

When Courtney returned to the area, Sherrill became her business manager and groom. Wanting control over their horses' care and environment brought Courtney and Sherrill to establishing Cadence Dressage at Pistakee Bay Equestrian Club.

When Courtney married and moved to Missouri, Sherrill took over the venture, establishing Cadence Dressage Riding Center at Pistakee Bay Equestrian Club.

Sherrill has a passion for providing the best possible care of the horses under her supervision. With the support of her  barn manager, Jorge Bertin, and the owners of Pistakee Bay Equestrian Club, the facility has become a truly horse-centered environment. The health, maintenance and daily care of the individual needs of each horse is paramount at Cadence Dressage Riding Center.

Jorge Bertin,  Barn Manager

Jorge has been with Cadence Dressage for 5 years. He establishes a special relationship with each horse under his care; he knows their likes and dislikes. As well as being responsible for the care of each horse at Cadence, Jorge takes care of the grounds, barn and arenas. Jorge takes great pride in our facility, and it shows in the cleanliness, organization and maintenance.
